Sarah Jessica Parker at her best at Louis Vuitton Fall/Winter RTW 2012 Show, Paris

7th March 2012. Sarah Jessica Parker has finally landed in Paris and has made her mark in a beautiful sheer white dress, adding an edge by flashing her black bra and showing her elegance with a pair of white gloves.

So glad white and lace is back this Spring. And SJP is showing us how to work it.

Sheer elegance.

Katy Perry Paris Fashion Week Highlights

Katy Perry has been ubiquitous throughout Paris Fashion Week and, apart from the horrific blue hair she is currently sporting, she’s been looking all kinds of good and high-fashiony. Here are her highlights:

My favourite – Katy at Viktor & Rolf’s Show, 3rd March, wearing one of the designers’ distinct designs :

The make-up and hair styling is very Lana Del Rey – it suits her!

The night before, 1st March, she was donning this very small number for dinner at La Maison du Caviar Restaurant.

Then she went all mature/demure in a Chloe shirt for shopping Paris style, 4th March…

Katy attended Jean-Charles de Castelbajac’s show today (6th March) wearing a creation by the designer and some ever-cool white Ray-Ban Clubmaster sunglasses.

She sure is a chameleon – not a real one though otherwise that bloody hair would change. It’s just plain wrong Katy… Otherwise, as these pictures prove, you’re kickin’ it!

Backstage Models at London Fashion Week

One of my favourite things about Fashion Week is the backstage models. Yes I love the catwalk of course but there’s something about seeing them relaxed and happy backstage makes them even more real and beautiful to me.

Plus I need the inspiration today. Badly.

Fur, leather and wedged boots – Mulberry Autumn/Winter 2012

London Fashion Week has begun and, while my personal interest in wearing wintry clothes is most certainly waning, I was happy to note that fur and wedged boots will be there waiting for me in shops much later this year.

Wedged boots were a revelation this winter and I have barely been out of mine since October so I am glad that they won’t be disappearing any time soon.

The other rather bit of exciting news is that Mulberry has released a new bag – the Del Rey. Mulberry has taken inspiration from the American beauty, Lana, creating a classic, vintage-look tote.

Of the Mulberry honour Lana said:
‘I love the design, a perfect mix between old school Hollywood and contemporary style. It’s an honour that such a classic and prestigious brand would name a bag after me’.

It is rather lovely but I must say I am still a sucker for the Alexa – which was again on the catwalk this year.

Above is the Oversized Alexa in Flame Pebbled Haircalf, teamed with some Flame wedged booties.

This Flame orange colour was used a number of times by Mulberry in their Autumn/Winter 2012 show and really broke up the autumnal colour palette.

What I particularly liked about this show in particular was that it was all very wearable. Good old English outerwear that might actually keep you warm in the freezing months.

I’m almost done with the Mulberry praise (you can tell I’m English) but I’ve missed something crucial…

Flawless as ever.

The Best of the amfAR New York Gala 2012, 8th February 2012

The gala, which signalled the beginning of New York Fall Fashion Week, combined two marvellous  phenomenon; fashion and fundraising. Notably, money was being raised for AIDS research, prevention and education – a worthy cause if I ever I heard one.

What follows fundraising is fashion – so let’s get on with the best of the guests…

Elisa Sednaoui in Roberto Cavalli (she’s the face of the designer’s new fragrance so it seemed the obvious, loyal choice – plus she looks beautiful).

All very different and individual and all of them stood out to me for that reason. If I was choosing an outfit, personally I’d take Elisa’s or Alexa’s… but then I’m safe like that!

Badgley Mischka Fall 2012 Runway show – NYC, 14th February 2012

So I have officially been crap. I haven’t covered New York Fashion week at all and I am extremely aware that London Fashion Week starts this Friday so I thought it was about time I got my arse in gear.

I’m starting with a bit of necessary glamour courtesy of Badley Mischka’s Fall collection…

Michelle Williams wearing Victoria Beckham

Michelle Williams arrived at a pre-Oscars luncheon today wearing Victoria Beckham’s S/S 2012 printed sleeveless collar ‘Good Heavens’ dress.

The dress, I love. And is very Michelle. The hair and neckline is evocative of Mia Farrow, don’t you think?

I know it was just a lunch but it wouldn’t have hurt to have accessorized a bit! Some big 60s style earrings or some bright nail polish would have done the trick. But I still praise her style in general – it’s nice to see a young Hollywood actress not in Herve Leger for once!

Hottest (non-)couple on the Red Carpet Award goes to…

Carey Mulligan and Michael Fassbender.

They joined together on the red carpet in aid of BFI’s London Film Critics’ Circle Awards on 19th January, but somehow these two have been under my radar until now.

Sourced from www.celebs.gather.com

Carey’s Roland Moulet red tulip dress is matched perfectly with the blue suede heels. I just wish her hair was dark… for some reason I really think this would bring that something extra to the outfit.

She gives me shoe shame, and he gives me… well… sexy shame.

What do you think of these two? They keeping you warm on this freeeezing January eve?

Cate Blanchett & others at the Samsung AACTA Awards

The best of Australia turned up at the Sydney Opera House last night and did their nation proud.

1. Cate Blanchett in a gold Alexander McQueen RTW Spring/Summer 2012 dress.

Cate Blanchett is one of my favourite actresses of all time (how good is her English accent?) and always looks supremely glamorous (if not always daring – gold and Alexander McQueen appear to be a favourite with Cate). That neck line is perfect on her.

2. Rachael Taylor in a sheer panelled Dion Lee gown, worn with super-chic slicked-back hair.

She’s rocking the sports luxe trend.

3. Miranda Kerr went ultra-glam in a slit-to-the-thigh bronze Collette Dinnigan dress.

It’s not my idea of a great look but she always looks beautiful in the close ups…

Success in the Southern Hemisphere. Congratulations to all the winners particularly Geoffrey Rush who picked up Australian of the Year.
